1. Overview of Capacity Building

What is Capacity Building for a non-profit Organization:

Capacity building is an investment in the effectiveness and future sustainability of a non-profit organization. Capacity building is not just about the capacity of a non-profit today -- it's about the non- profit’s ability to deliver its mission effectively now, and in the future. When capacity building is successful, it strengthens a non-profit’s ability to fulfill its mission over time, thereby enhancing the non-profit’s ability to have a positive impact on lives and communities.

2. Strategic Planning, Strategic Roadmap and Balanced Score Card

Strategic Planning

Setting Vision, Mission, Strategies, Objectives, Measurement, Target and preparing Action Plans are planning processes used in profit and non-profit organisations. It helps organizations to achieve short term goals and as well support to reach organisational vision. This strategic planning process supports developing a clear mission, building consensus, and grounding your group's dreams.

Strategic Roadmap

Generally Non-profit organizations deal directly with the public and its welfare. Measuring the performance of such organisation and the effectiveness strategy is comparatively difficult as compared to other organisations. Foundations should always maintain the continuity of its activities by optimizing the use of all its resources in improving public services. One of measure that can be used non-profit organizations in the evaluation of strategy is the Balanced Scorecard, this method translates the vision and mission into objectives and measures are structured in four perspectives. They are financial, customer, internal business processes, and learning and growth. Balanced Scorecard can help an organization to translate vision, mission and strategy into action by utilizing a set of financial indicators and non-financial, all of which are connected in a causal relation. The picture representing the casual relation is called “Strategic Roadmap”

A balanced scorecard is a strategic management performance metric that helps companies identify and improve their internal operations to help their external outcomes. It measures past performance data and provides organizations with feedback on how to make better decisions in the future.

Financial statements are produced from the organisation's accounting records. They are a summary of all the transactions for a specified period of time and show the financial position of an organisation
